Mustang Mach-E and F-150 get real-time traffic from TomTom

The advanced TomTom service can predict traffic jams before they happen

Ford’s built-in Sync 4 navigation systems in Mustang Mach-E and F-150, and probably future Ford & Lincoln vehicles, will get their real-time traffic information from TomTom. The global, multi-year deal will provide drivers with real-time traffic information and adjust trips based on traffic forecasts, not just current traffic conditions.

“[The all-new F-150 and the Mustang Mach-E‘s] next-generation SYNC technologies have twice the computing power of the previous-generation system to do much more, including real-time, smartphone-like mapping that can help you adjust on the fly to quicker routes based on their network of millions of connected devices.”

Stuart Taylor, executive director, Enterprise Connectivity

Ford’s navigation system with TomTom Traffic is connected to the internet and can predict traffic jams before they happen with updates every 30 seconds based on more than 70 million driving hours every day from millions of connected devices.

It’s great to have many choices for navigation and traffic in Mustang Mach-E and F-150. Drivers can choose between Ford’s built in navigation with TomTom, or Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze and others using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
