Could the Lincoln Continental return as version of the Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Just a rendering, for now, but could the Lincoln Continental make its return as a version of the Ford Mustang Mach-E? Designer Kleber Silva thinks it can happen.

In these renders by Silva, he grafts on Lincoln’s current grill, badge, jeweled headlights, and wheels, as well as the Continental’s e-latch door handles, to the svelte body of the Mach-E. If Lincoln were to make their own version, I’m sure there would be more changes than just this quick make over.

There’s definitely a market for luxury electric SUVs, and the Lincoln Mach E could be pitched against rivals like Audi e-tron, Mercedes EQC, and Jaguar I-Pace. And, an electric SUV fits in perfectly with Lincolns “quiet flight” ethos. You’ll remember, Lincoln was working with Rivian for a new luxury SUV on Rivian’s skateboard platform, but those plans were put on hold due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
